In the two-day camp, organised by Colgate & Indian Dental Association (IDA) as part of the 14th Oral Health Month (OHM), taxi drivers can receive free dental check-ups and treatment at the GVK Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on January 30 & 31
Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited, the market leader in Oral Care, in partnership with Indian Dental Association (IDA), has organised a special, free two-day dental camp for Mumbai’s taxi drivers, at the Mumbai International Airport. The camp is being held as a part of the on-going Oral Health Month, a national oral care campaign – currently in its 14thedition.
When & where: January 30 & 31, at P4, Terminal 2, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, from 10 am to 5 pm.
A recent report revealed that many cab drivers consume tobacco in various forms in order to stay awake while driving; 35% of the drivers showed early signs of oral cancer due to tobacco consumption; while 64% of the 400 surveyed drivers consume tobacco and its products like khaini and paan masala. Colgate & IDA, therefore, felt the need to organise a special dental care camp for the taxi drivers in Mumbai and also provide them free dental treatments like scaling & polishing.
In line with Colgate’s objective to “Keep India Smiling”, the Oral Health Month program has provided free dental check-ups & consultation to over 33 million Indians in the last 14 years. In the last edition itself, OHM provided free dental check-ups to 6 million people, across 1100 cities, with the help of 34000 IDA dentists.

Secretary General, Indian Dental Association, said, “The Oral Health Month is one of the biggest oral care campaigns in India where Colgate & IDA come together to drive their common objective of improving the oral health of the country. Since its inception in 2004, OHM has grown significantly in reach and scale, providing over 30 million free dental check-ups till date. As a part of the current OHM program, 35,000 IDA dentists across India will be providing free dental check-ups to people, and, in the process, educating them on good oral care habits.”
