RMHC India brings smiles to terminally ill children and their families at a special birthday party

The India Chapter of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC India) celebrated the first anniversary of RMHC India’s Family Room at the Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children at Mumbai.


The RMHC India Family Room at Wadia Hospital, allows families of children suffering from Cancer and undergoing treatment, to be present and involved in their treatment and recovery and is the first initiative of the non- profit organisation in India. It has supported more than 4,000 young children by providing comfortable air-conditioned seating area, play and activity area for children, recreation facilities, clean bathrooms, dry pantry and clean, hygienic drinking water to children and their families.

On the occasion of the first anniversary, Sujata Goel, Head, RMHC India said,RMHC India is very happy to celebrate the first anniversary of our association with the Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital, where the Family Room has been able to make a positive difference to the lives of over 4,000 children in this short time.

We hope our small effort of providing these facilities to these terminally ill children and their families makes their ordeal a little easier to deal with. RMHC India is looking forward to spreading joy in the lives of more children across the country. We are very grateful to Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital’s support for a being a stepping stone in our noble journey.”

RMHC India is further expanding its reach to other similar medical institutes around the country, and is looking to set up more such facilities over the next few years.
