At Max Healthcare, we understand the amount of effort that women undertake to balance their personal and professional commitments, often tending to ignore their own well-being and health, in the bargain. On International Women’s Day, our endeavour is to help women realize the importance of making their own health a priority. Through the inspiring session – ‘Caring is Healing’ – we highlight the importance of maintaining mental and emotional peace, and re-energising the mind through positive thinking.”

The importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle can’t be stressed enough in today’s day and age. Proactive health check-ups can help in early-stage diagnosis of common lifestyle diseases like Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, and cancer; enabling better control and treatment.

This is especially critical in the case of women’s health, with a recent study by ASSOCHAM, identifying 68% working women suffer from lifestyle ailments such as obesity, depression, chronic backache, diabetes and hypertension. Health problems like breast problems, weight gain, irregular, heavy and painful periods are commonly observed in women. Long hours and working under strict deadlines cause up to 75% of working women to suffer from depression or general anxiety disorders, compared to women with lesser levels of psychological demands at work. The most common health problems that women today are dealing with are as follows:

  • Breast Cancer: One of the growing problems amongst women, Breast cancer is responsible for 1% of deaths worldwide
  • Stroke: Diabetes and hypertension are the two most common causes of stroke. Also junk food, lack of exercise, excessive work pressure and no-diet control are the other reasons.
  • Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD): Polycystic ovary disease is yet another issue that has become one of the most common female endocrine disorders affecting about 5 to 10% of women of reproductive age, which is anything between 12-45 years. It is a condition in which there are many small cysts in the ovaries, which can affect a woman’s ability to conceive
  • Weight problems: Fluctuating weight due to unhealthy lifestyle habits and ignoring their own health problems have been responsible for rising incidence of obesity among women.

Over the past years, Max Healthcare has been actively working towards ensuring international standard healthcare facilities are provided to its patients. The leading healthcare player has held numerous health-camps and OPDs across North India and continues to build awareness for various health-related concerns.
