The second Digital Healthcare Summit by Techplus Media was concluded successfully at the Sofitel in Bandra Kurla Complex at Mumbai on Friday, Oct 21st. Inaugurated by Dr. Deepak Sawant, State minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Maharashtra, the event received keen interest from the medical as well as the IT community alike.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sawant showed a lot of encouragement for technology adoption in the healthcare sector and put out a request for the attendees to come forward for supporting the Maharashtra government in their endeavour to make high quality healthcare available to rural Maharashtra, particularly to people below poverty line. He suggested that technology companies use their innovative expertise to support his government to help the rural poor in the state. He promised full support to brands that took up this job, from the government’s side.
The event facilitated five panel discussions across relevant topics in IT in Healthcare, and a speaker presentation by Quickheal Securite on Data security for healthcare. The five engrossing panel discussions, attended by eminent speakers from the medico-technology experts as well as practicing doctors who are the major stakeholders of the technology innovations, alongside the technologists who work on newer methods of providing better healthcare, the event had high level of participation in terms of industry IP.
In addition, the event saw the first ever innovative CIO awards for the healthcare industry, that were given away to eight top healthcare industry CIOs across four categories- health technology, Innovation in mHealth solutions, Health Records Excellence and Healthcare Digitization. In addition, the ceremony saw the launch of the Healthcare IT Association of CIOs, which partnered with Techplus for these awards.
The association also gave away five Star performer CIO awards- Ms. Viloo Williams, CIO, Jaslok Hospital Mumbai, Mr. Suresh Kumar, CIO Seven Hills Hospital, Mumbai, Mr. Atul Umak AGM-IT, Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital, Mumbai, Mr Manish Ved, CIO, Bombay Hospital Trust and Mr. Raghavendra Bapat, CIO , Jehangir Hospital, Pune.
