Schools from Indore, Ahmadabad, Bhopal, Goa and Mumbai participate
The West Zone qualifier round for India’s first ever exclusive National Quiz competition on Psychology ‘PSYCH-ED’ witnessed the participation by 12 schools, during the intense competition held at Fortis SL Raheja Hospital, Mahim, today.
The quiz, organized as part of Fortis School Mental Health Program, is spearheaded by Dr Samir Parikh, Director-Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences. This is the second round of the national quiz competition following the online round which was held on August 22, 2016. Participants from more than 200 schools across 40 cities, pan-India have participated in the online quiz round. The shortlisted candidates from online rounds participated in the zonal qualifier rounds.
Three members from each contesting school were pitched against each other through a holistic quiz format. The format consisted of different rounds such as rollover, puzzle, wipe out round, minus point round, etc. The quiz tested their knowledge of Psychology and Allied Sciences. The Daly College, Indore, qualified for finals, which will take place in Delhi on October 7, 2016, after the completion of other zonal qualifiers from Jaipur, Mohali, Kolkata, Chandigarh and Delhi. The winner of the final round will get cash prize of INR 50,000/-, first runner-up will get the cash prize of INR 30,000/- and second runner-up will get cash prize of INR 20,000/- . These students would also get internship opportunities with the department.
