UK, state ink deal for bike ambulances technology

The state government and Healthcare UK signed a memorandum of understanding. The UK body will provide technical support to start bike ambulance service in Mumbai city.

Health minister of the state Dr Deepak Sawant, on behalf of the Maharashtra government, and Francis Maude, minister of state for trade and investment, UK, signed the deal.bike-ambulances-technology

Healthcare UK, a British government body, helps healthcare providers in UK to work overseas and supports the creation of international partnerships. The MoU paves the way for collaboration on a range of healthcare issues, including professional skills development, digital healthcare and bike ambulance services.

“We will not provide bikes , we will provide technical service and train staff on how to implement the service. In cities like Mumbai, where there are traffic issues, the bike ambulance service would be of help,” Maude said
