The new state of Telangana and possible investment opportunities it offers appears to have generated some interest in the USA, with the pitches being made by IT minister KT Rama Rao resulting in positive responses from Hewlett Packard.
KTR is currently touring various US cities meeting corporate heads and industry representatives promoting investment opportunities in the state. His interactions have resulted in Hewlett Packard agreeing to his proposal for setting up a trauma care center in Hyderabad as part of the company’s social responsibility activities.
In a meeting with HP vice-president Suparno Banerjee, KTR requested the company to set up a printer manufacturing unit in the state. Accepting a proposal for a trauma care center in Hyderabad, the HP executive informed the minister that his company was ready to work with the government in the healthcare and education sectors.
