Nitte University, in association with the People’s Council of Education will organize the first All India People’s Medical and Health Science Convention at Nitte University, Deralakatte, from Thursday to Saturday. The focal theme is ‘Medical and health science education system in India: The emerging paradigms’.
The convention is aimed at developing a systemic understanding of medical and health science education system in India, said Dr S Ramananda Shetty, vice-chancellor and organizing chairman. He said it was the first of its kind in the history of medical and health science in India and was designed to discover, develop and disseminate a new democratic and scientific medical and health science education system in consonance with the democratic social needs and democratic aspirations of people.
The convention will be inaugurated by Justice M N VentataChaliah, retired chief justice of Supreme Court on Thursday at K S Hegde Auditorium, Nitte University, at 2pm.
D R Kaarthikeyan, former director of the CBI will be the chief guest of the valedictory function which will be held on Saturday at 6pm at the Paneer Campus Auditorium.
